New Drivers take Podium for Rallycross Grand Prix

It was all change for the Swifts in Sunday for the Rallycross Grand Prix.  Tony Lynch swapped places with his daughters boyfriend Craig Lomax who took the crown in the BTRDA Stock Hatch allowing Craig to have his first taste of competing a Swift driving the Lucas Oils charge Tony had claimed 3rd in the Championship the previous day.

James Knight-Coney also hung up his boots for the weekend handing his Swift over to Father Paul Coney who is no stranger to Rallycross previously piloting a Peugeot 205 and also a Vauxhall Nova.

New to Rallycross this weekend was Rob Shield son of Past Rallycross Champion Michael Shield who certainly found out what the sport was all about giving an impressive performance mixing it with the front runners from the off.

Darren Scott was flying again taking fastest time of the day although an incident at the first corner in the final saw his Grand Prix Title and Double Victory bid ended when he was pushed wide and left out of the running.  Tristan Ovenden managed to hold it together in the final to take the victory ahead of the new boys Paul Coney  who took second and Craig Lomax.
