Swift Juniors Ready for Scotland

As the Swift Sport Rallycross competitors dust themselves off from their excursion to the Dutch countryside, it seems the wait is nearly over for the Junior Rallycross drivers as they head to Knockhill for round two of the 2014 Swift Sport Junior Rallycross Championship.

Although for some Lydden Hill seems a distant memory, for Charlie Bean victory in the first round for him is still very vivid.

The youngster from North Yorkshire made the perfect start to his 2014 campaign after finishing runner-up in last year’s Junior Championship. He was joined on the podium by Drew Bellerby and Jake Taylor in a final where all three took the chequered flag with less than one second separating them.

Jake was thrilled to finish third and secure his place on the podium last time out. Asked if he was going to go one better this weekend, Jake said “I’m really looking forward to driving on the famous Knockhill track. Unlike some of the other drivers I have no experience on this circuit so I am hoping to improve my lap times in my heats and just see what I can do in the final. I am aiming for another podium finish.”

Joining the Junior grid for the second time is Jennie Hawkes. The 15 year old from Stockton-on-Tees made great progress at Lydden Hill back in March and showed a lot of potential. Jennie will again line up on the grid alongside Charlie, Drew and Jake.

Racing takes place on Sunday 11th May and one thing is for certain with the Swift Junior drivers: competition will be fierce and racing will be close as the battle for the championship intensifies.
