Swift Rallycross Championships

Round 2 Visits Valkenswaard

The 2014 British Rallycross season is off to a flying start, with only two weeks after the opening round at Lydden Hill the seasoned racers of the Swift Rallycross Championships have no time to relax as they head across the water to Valkenswaard in Holland for round two on Sunday.

Being the first appearance of the Swift Rallycross Championship at this hotspot in Holland, it will be all to play for with most drivers experiencing the track for the first time.  Belgian driver Kris Fruru who took third in the championship last year makes this outing and although has previous experience of the track from his Rallycross Challenge Europe appearance last season, Fruru has his own challenge swapping to a right hand drive Swift.   Interest will be in  Rob Maynard who took his first podium at Lydden behind consistant front runners 2013 Champion Graham Rodemark and Round one winner Tristan Ovenden.

Darren Scott will be another one to watch who is making a return to the championship after a year out.  Scott finished 3rd in the Championship in 2012 winning the final round at Croft Circuit so he will be wanting to make up for lost time and will be challenging for a place on the podium along with fellow returning Swift driver Chris Mullen who frustratingly suffered gear selector problems in the final of Round One.

New drivers to the championship will have to wait until the Championship returns to the UK and heads to Knockhill in Scotland, 11th May as this overseas excursion requires a National A licence not obtainable for the newcomers.
With the inclusion of an additional round with the BTRDA at Blyton Race Circuit on 30th November and the dropped score system counting 6 points of the 7 rounds all drivers have the chance of the Championship title.
