Champion Ovenden Stars at Silverstone
There was much excitement as the fifteen Swift Sports headed out to the new Silverstone Rallycross Circuit for the opening round of the Swift Sport Rallycross Championship. Making their Swift debuts, former Ginetta driver Ryan Hadfield and WRX commentator Andrew Coley joined the mix along with returning regulars including the leading Swift Stars from 2017, Simon Ovenden, Rob Shield and Morgan Bailey. In the MSA Junior Rallycross Championship’s first event of the season it was a pair of debutant drivers that finished first and second. Marius Solberg Hansen (Norway) was twice third fastest in the qualifying stages, before setting fastest time in Q3 to secure pole position for the final. Hadfield Swaps Ginetta for Swift!
Ex Ginetta regular Ryan Hadfield will make the jump over to rallycross in the Swift Sport Championship for the 2018 Season. After a positive first test in the Peter Gwynne Motorsport Swift, Hadfield is hopeful he can make strong headway and progress throughout the season with the new challenge ahead of him.
