Under blistering Bank Holiday sun, the Motorsport UK Junior Rallycross Championship opened the race proceedings at Lydden Hill Race Circuit in Kent on Monday. It was Tom Ovenden who took the first chequered flag of the day, in front of his home crowd, holding off a charging Roberts Vitols, Alfie Porter and Archie Thomas in a closely fought affair, with all four drivers in with a chance of victory until the chequered flag fell. Layton Swaps Kart for Car at Lydden Hill
Joining the MSA Junior Rallycross Championship for his Rallycross debut, Will Layton prepares to take the step up from a kart to a car at none other than the ‘Home of Rallycross’ Lydden Hill, this Bank Holiday Monday. Layton first raced in the Junior TKM back in 2016 where he went on to win the championship in his first season. He has since moved up to X30 Junior and then Senior X30 in winter 2017. Bailey Wins Again at Croft

Constantine Doubles up at Home Circuit
On the back of his second ever win in the MSA Junior Rallycross Championship in round two at Lydden Hill, Tom Constantine (Richmond) beat younger brother and pole position starter Luke in the run to the first corner and led the race throughout for his second successive win.

As the crowds gathered for the traditional Bank Holiday Monday British Rallycross Championship meeting at Lydden Hill, despite a back row start, it was reigning Swift Sport Champion Simon Ovenden who set the pace in the opening qualifier.
