WIN FOR WEATHERLEY IN WALES!
Round three of the Swift Sport Rallycross Championship got underway at the home of Welsh Motorsport, Pembrey Circuit in Wales on Saturday.
With his Swift shining in the glorious sunshine after it was repaired from his roll at Lydden Hill, Max Weatherley was fastest in the opening qualifying heat, ahead of round two runner up Will Layton, Dominic Flitney in third. with Tom Constantine a close 4th, only 0.1 seconds behind Flitney.

Max Weatherley ahead of Will Layton and Dominic Flitney
Weatherley once again topped the time sheets in Q2, however this time it was Junior Champion Constantine giving chase and current championship leader Flitney in third.
Constantine took the top spot in Q3 and claimed second top qualifier, ahead of Max Weatherley who secured pole position of the final, whilst Dominic Flitney, again putting in the third quickest time secured the last front row final place.
Lining up behind the front runners for the final race of the day, where everything counts, Will Layton and Nikita Abramov made up the second row, with Don Macleod, Ed Stallard and Ian Flitney completing row three. Unfortunately a DNF for Joe Booth in Q1 denied him a place in the final.
As they all emerged from the first corner unscathed it was all about the joker strategy, Macleod headed straight for the joker whilst Weatherley, Constantine and Flitney pushed to pull away from the main pack. Stallard went joker second lap, whilst Constantine and Layton waited for the third pass, along with Flitney senior. Dom Flitney opted for a fourth lap whilst Weatherley continued out front to gain more distance ahead of the following train, holding out till the fifth lap to joker where he rejoined ahead of Constantine and Flitney Jnr. Weatherley held it to the chequered flag to score his first win of the season ahead of Constantine, Flitney Jnr, and Layton.
A great comeback drive from Nikita Abramov after his dramatic roll at Lydden coming in fifth ahead of his Peter Gwynne Motorsport team mates Macleod and Stallard, with Flitney Snr completing the Swifts days racing for day one.
All the Swifts survived, ready to race the second day of this TOYO TIRES British Rallycross Championship double header event on the Sunday.
