The Swift Rallycross Championships is proud to launch an exciting new initiative aimed at encouraging young people into motorsport media, broadcasting and content creation with the introduction of the Next Gen RX Reporter programme.

Open to young people aged 14 to 17, the initiative is designed to give one young motorsport enthusiast the opportunity to gain real experience reporting from the paddock at 5 Nations British Rallycross Championship events, covering the Motorsport UK Junior Rallycross Championship throughout the season.

What the Winner Will Receive

The successful winner will receive advice from FIA World Rallycross reporter and RallyX commentator Hal Ridge, as well as support and advice from commentator Dan Wright, who began his own rallycross media journey writing press releases for the Swift Rallycross Championships.

The winner will also:

- Visit the commentary box during a live event in July

- Feature in the Season Finale Event Programme in November

- Gain real experience working within a championship media environment

- Build a portfolio of motorsport media and content creation work

- Learn what it’s like to report from a live motorsport event

This is a fantastic opportunity for any young person interested in a future in media, broadcasting, journalism, presenting or content creation, and aims to help provide a pathway into motorsport beyond driving.

How to Enter

To enter, applicants are asked to attend the opening round of the Swift Rallycross Championships at Lydden Hill and create their own content covering the race weekend.

This could include:

- Driver interviews

- Event reports

- Paddock and behind-the-scenes content

- Social media coverage

- Video reports

- Written articles

- Photo stories

Entrants are also encouraged to select a Driver of the Day from one of the Swift Championships and produce a short feature explaining their choice and the story behind their selection.

If applicants are unable to attend in person, they may still enter by creating content using the event live stream. Anyone attending the event must be accompanied by an adult.

Those interested in taking part should email info@swiftrallycross.com to register their interest and receive submission details. Entrants are encouraged to tag @swiftrallycross in any related social media content.

The closing date for submissions is Sunday 19th April 2026.

Encouraging the Next Generation

The initiative has been launched as part of Swift Rallycross Championships’ commitment to encouraging young people into motorsport in all its forms and highlighting the many opportunities available within the sport, including media, broadcasting and content creation.

Sarah Watson – Swift Rallycross Championships

“We are passionate about creating opportunities for young people within motorsport, not only as drivers but across the wider sport too.

The Next Gen RX Reporter initiative is a fantastic chance for a young person to show us their creativity, enthusiasm and personality while gaining real experience in a live motorsport environment.

With guidance from respected voices in rallycross media and the opportunity to experience the commentary side of the sport first-hand, we hope this can be the beginning of a very exciting journey for someone.”

Young aspiring reporters aged 14–17 who would like to take part should email info@swiftrallycross.com to receive submission details.
